Congratulations to Giles Scott of Land Rover BAR - he has already clinched the gold medal in the Finn class, before the tomorrow's medal race.

Peter Burling and Blair Tuke of Emirates Team New Zealand have an 18 point lead in the 49er, with three more races plus the medal race on Thursday. London gold medalists, Australians Nathan Outteridge and Iain Jensen of Artemis Racing are currently in third place behind Germans Heil and Ploessel.

Australian Jason Waterhouse of SoftBank Team Japan goes into tomorrow's medal race in the Nacra 17 mixed multihull in fourth place with his crew Lisa Darmanin. Argentinian Santiago Lange, age 54, sits in first place with his crew Cecilia Carranza Saroli. Lange helmed one of Artemis Racing's AC45's during the 2011-13 America's Cup World Series. The New Zealand Nacra 17 is helmed by Gemma Jones, daughter of America's Cup Hall of Famer Murray Jones. Gemma and her crew Jason Saunders are in fifth place, in strong contention for a medal.

  • Video: A Look at Oracle's AC Class Yacht

Oracle posted an interesting video with designer Aaron Perry explaining that they can use a 3D printer to make parts straight from digital files in their CAD system. They can "print" parts in titanium, aluminum or plastic. The drawings on Aaron's screen in the video are the AC Class yacht. You can see the joint where the bow section unbolts and the extension or "horn" on the stern for the umpire light stack, the GPS antenna and the agile TV camera. In addition, you can see that the rudder position is very different from the AC45X "sport" boat the team is testing in Bermuda. Click the image above to play the video.

  • New Zealand Ran Into a Mooring and Stopped

In a tight rounding situation in at the last mark in Portsmouth, Team New Zealand ran into a mooring and stopped dead in the water. Click the image to watch.

  • When will the J Class yachts be racing in Bermuda?
  • Hello Kirk, Thanks for your question! The J-Class regatta begins on Friday 16 June 2017, the day before the America's Cup Match. It continues with two more days of racing on Monday and Tuesday, 19-20 June. They will almost certainly race offshore, and not on the Great Sound. It should be spectacular! You can download the full 2017 race schedule here.
